Cucumbus al Museo della ceramica di Grottaglie

Cucumbus at the Grottaglie Museum of Ceramics

We are very happy that our artwork "Cucumbus oniricus" has been selected for the prestigious XXX Competition of Contemporary Ceramics Mediterraneo, hosted by the renowned Museum of Ceramics of Grottaglie.
The work will be exhibited at the museum until 8 October 2023, offering to art lovers and curious the opportunity to discover and reflect on the fusion of art, biotechnology and futuristic visions.

The cycle of artworks "Cucumbus" was born from a surrealistic reflection: imagining living organisms made of ceramic. This idea, fueled by evolutions in biotechnology, recent reclassifications of plant genres and speculative biochemical theories, has given rise to a series of unique and fascinating sculptures.

"Cucumbus oniricus" is a symbiotic colony of synthetic organisms that defies the conventions of traditional art.
It is not just a ceramic sculpture, but an organism with unprecedented characteristics, inspired as much by plant nature as by the complexity of modern society. Like a plant, is capable of generating its own nourishment, but with a contemporary perspective: it feeds on the attention of the observers. Accumulating energy through interaction with the public, this sculpture constantly evolves, giving life to new and different elements. It is as if the sculpture itself participates in an artistic 'social network', continually trying to surprise and fascinate the audience.
